"When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” So Jesus went with him." (Mark 5:21-24)
Jairus was such the epitome of a "Super Dad". He knew that he had to get help for his young daughter, who was fading fast to a sickness for which there was no cure. Jairus clearly understood that he was limited in his ability to so he sought out the only one who could heal her frail body and that was Jesus Christ. When he found Jesus, he wasted no time trying to impress Him but instead fell at his feet and pleaded for his help. Jesus’ heart melted with compassion and he went with Jairus. When they arrived at the man’s home, the crowd laughed when they heard Jesus say that she was asleep, as they believed her to be dead. Jesus put them all out, as we sometimes have to do with the naysayers/haters and go with what God is calling us to do. Jesus brought the child back to life and proved to them all, that he was the true healer and deliverer.
Perhaps you did not have a father who would go to such lengths for you as Jairus did for his daughter, but rest assured, there is a heavenly Father who pulled out all the stops when he sent Jesus Christ to save us all. We were doomed to be forever lost in our sins, until our Father, that’s right, our Father, yours and mine, came to the rescue. He told us how much he loves us and made a way for us to escape through his son! Such love and compassion on display.
God is the father that has prioritized us as his children and longs for us to connect with Him. He constantly tells us through the word, that he loves us all individually and has given us each a gift to use for his glory. Our Father God, had Jesus to pray for us before he left earth, then sent the Holy Ghost to help us, endowed us with his peace and left us with an instruction booklet, so we wouldn’t get lost. What else can a Father do to show His love for us?
