"We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;" (2 Corinthians 4:8)
Have you ever been just completely filled with confusion? Have you ever felt lost with no understanding of what’s going on? Sometimes in life you are going to feel exactly like that... perplexed. Doubting and uncertain of what will happen, full of anxiety, troublesome thoughts seems to be what your life is all about. The pressures of life can become overwhelming and leave us feeling hopeless and helpless. But friends, we must remember Paul’s words, “perplexed, but not in despair”. When we think we have no available resources to turn to, nowhere to seek refuge, no one to call on, how many times has God interposed with His grace and provided for us and saved us from absolute despair?..... Too many times to count!!!!
Pressured, perplexed, pursued or punched...whatever your situation is right now you are in the good company of over-comers. Don’t give up on yourself or on God. He will never leave you in absolute despair.
Lord, thank you. Thank you for reminding me that I never have to doubt your love for me. I pray any thoughts I may have that are not from you I ask you to remove them. I pray against thoughts of hopelessness and helplessness and I claim victory in you.
